(More customer reviews)After jogging for 6 years and destroying countless running shoes, I self-diagnosed myself with mid-foot strike.I noticed there was a particular wear pattern in the middle of the sole; scouring the internet I found that the 800s had extra rubber in this area of the sole.I have been running in these for the last 4 months, and the sole wear has been much more even and has held up better than previous shoes.My one complaint is that the shoe is almost too light.The first few runs put a lot of pressure on my shins, but after three runs or so, the pain has stopped. However, I'm hesitant to add more mileage to my runs for fear the pain will return.Still it's a good shoe that has lasted longer than any pair I've used for running.

New Balance Men's MR1062 Running Shoe Review

(More customer reviews)This model of shoes from New Balance has been discontinued in favor of the MR1063.I have had three pair of the MR1062, and I could find nothing to complain about except that they eventually wore out!I am now no longer able to find my size, and I wish that I had stock piled a few extra when they were marked down.Why?

I am in the minority (chances are you are too if you are looking at this shoe) of underpronators.For me, this was the perfect neutral shoe, and it was cushioned and more comfortable than anything else I had ever worn.I easily put 500 miles on each pair that I had.I did this training for and running in 10k races.These shoes stood up to hill drills, speed intervals, and long distance runs without ever leaving me with blisters.My feet didn't hurt unless it was time to replace them.

So why not just get a pair of the MR1063?The arches are higher in the new model than these, and it was enough of a difference that just walking around in them was uncomfortable.If you have any suggestions for an alternative, please leave me a comment.And get your size of the MR1062 before it's too late!

(More customer reviews)I am a huge fan of New Balance products, primarily for the superb fitting I am guaranteed of. I have never had to re-think any purchase on the grounds of fit, and this is no different. However, I think the cushioning is slightly unbalanced, being excellent on the rear sole, while it feels a little spare on the front. Also, the soles squeak with every step while running at a slow pace/walking. Not a major problem, but it could have been better. Traction is very good on slippery surfaces as well. Aesthetics and squeak aside, a good buy.

The sole doesn't compress easily, so energy gets to the bar instead of being absorbed. There is also adequate cushioning for the forefoot and heel. It is light and also excellent for aerobic activities such as jumping rope. It holds its own as a walking shoe and has reflectors front and back. Sweat dries out of this shoe rapidly, so it makes a great all day shoe in the summer. Supportive enough for long periods of standing as well.

New Balance Men's MR769 NBx Stability Running Shoe Review

(More customer reviews)This is a great shoe for combining lateral support with ample cushioning. I'm a 6'00", 205lbs over pronator who had a tough time running in GT-2120's because they are designed for a neutral gait. These shoes provide substantial stability in the heel area with an extra firm midsole which heavier runners will enjoy (less leg fatigue!). The heel height may be a bit much for some but I'm sure my frame will break it in nicely.

Fit: People have complained that this shoe runs a 1/2 size small. More likely, the issue is that the shoe is designed on a PL-1 last versus the wider SL-2 last that many runners are used to. The 'last' is basically the frame of the shoe that provides various shapes for different fits(straight, performance, racing, etc.)

The PL-1 last has a narrower toe area while SL-2 shoes(a popular design for older ND models) are wider in that area. I wear a D width, but I'd guess that wide-footed runners who got away with wearing a D in SL-2's would probably need to go up in width to compensate for the more narrow designed PL-1's.

Ultimately, these are a great shoe for those who need/want extra support in the heel. However, it may be worth a trip to a running store if you are unsure of which width is right for you.

I go almost everywhere in the M587--I even teach my university courses wearing the M587!The M587 is simply the best running shoe--and most comfortable shoe of any type--that I've ever owned.I hope to keep using the M587 well into the new milenium. I might also add that Amazon.com prices the M587 substantially below the price charged by my previous online supplier.

(More customer reviews)I am extremely satisfied with the 1225's.Right out of the box I found them extremely comfortable and ready to go.I took them out for a 7 mile run and thought they were great.Excellent cushioning, but not too soft and definitely not too hard on each footfall.I tend to suffer from shin splints and I think these shoes have helped me stabilize my gait and neutralize my shin splints. I also really like the styling (shoe laces do not come undone), color scheme and reflecting features (good for night running).I highly recommend them if you're someone who needs a stability shoe or even if you are a mild to medium overpronator who needs a stable but not heavy shoe.
