(More customer reviews)These boots have been great for hiking. Good grip and very comfortable. I haven't had any issues with moisture/sweat. Haven't tested out if they are affected by water. This purchase has worked out great, now let me go knock on some wood.

UPDATE: Ok so since I bought these about 5 months the bottom rubber soles have started to come unglued. Did not expect that. Are still extremely comfortable and otherwise have stood up well on my day-hikes. I think some superglue will resolve the sole issue and comfort-wise I find these shoes worth the superglue, but I'd be pretty upset had I paid current prices of around $100. If I could change the rating I would give 3.5 stars now. A great shoe IF it stays intact.

Hi-Tec Women's St. Moritz Luxe 200i Insulated Boot Review

(More customer reviews)I live in western NY and the snow and the cold here can be brutal. I bought these boots a few months ago and have worn them for walks, hikes in the Adirondak Mountains, and to do things like snow removal after the last batch of February and March snow storms. Not only did my feet stay dry, they were WARM. After walking in slush, snow, and some muddy terrain (for hours!), they look brand new. The suede stayed dry in all of these conditions! The boots can be a little stiff at first, but after a few wears, they became more flexible. There is enough room for wool socks inside, but any pair of socks will do in these comfy warm boots. I love them and am glad that I spent the money. They also are a cute and I've worn them with my jeans tucked inside. A great buy and I'd recommend them to everyone.

Women's Merrell Chameleon Arc Mid Waterproof Review

(More customer reviews)Bought this shoe for to hike up Mt. Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. Chose it for brand, styling, comfort and waterproof claim. Shoe needs a break in period as support structure quite different from regular shoes and takes getting used to. Shoe felt quite stiff but I appreciated this in the end as the terrain was quite rocky. Traction onmud and wet, smooth granite was good going up, but not going down. Hiked for a total of 14 hours, 8 hours of which in steady mild to moderate rain and sadly, the shoe is not as waterproof as claimed. My socks were wet and toes were cold.
I bought a size up as the Merrell's I tried ran small and narrow. A size up was enough to wear proper hike socks.
I would not recommend for women with medium to fleshy feet- unless they start selling the shoes with width options.

Salomon Women's Exit Peak Mid GTX W Hiking Boot Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased these Salomon boots because they were recommended by fellow hikers who had had problems with blistering due to heel slippage (which is a problem for me as well.)

I found these mid-height boots to be comfortably snug at the heel (no slippage or blisters!) and roomy in the toe, and I ordered my normal size for this style of boot.(I do have some moderate bunions, but these boots accommodated them with no pain or uncomfortable rubbing, etc.) The tongue is thickly padded, and greatly aids in keeping the heel down where it belongs.They were comfortable right out of the box and I did a three-mile hike my first time in them with no ill-effects other than needing slight lacing adjustments.I especially liked that my ankles didn't feel restricted even though I had the boots laced pretty snugly to keep the heels from slipping.

One caveat:These boots are VERY WARM, probably due to the interior liner which is sewn into and is part of the boot.Wearing them in warm weather guarantees you will soak your socks.I do a lot of autumn and winter hiking, in temps from 0 to 40 degrees F, so these will probably do well for me and keep my feet warm without bulkier socks, but I will definitely be looking for something cooler to wear on those hotter days.

The only reason I did not give these boots a 5-star rating was because of the low breathability factor.

(More customer reviews)I love Keen shoes and have many pairs, so I was excited to try their winter boots.I was so disappointed when these arrived.I'm sure the footbed is still great, as on all Keen's, but I couldn't even get them on, the calf was *way* too small.They really need to look at their sizing model, there is no reason for that to happen.
