I don't have too much commentary on these boots aside from the title of this review, because during my two week trip to Peru, up mountains, down valleys, through the rain forest, through hot and chilly, they did not really make me aware of themselves - the most comfortable shoes are usually unnoticeable. Then again, I am blessed with a foot that is comfortable in most shoes, so I could not offer any insight for people who have high arches, wide feet, etc...These boots have excellent ankle support - a feature that my feet would probably have suffered without up and down steep inclines. After steep hikes of many miles, my feet had no evidence of use or abuse - no blisters or painful spots.

I was very much aware of my boots when I was back at home, and had to clean the mud and dust off. Suede hiking boots may seem like a terrible idea, but if you have the patience to clean them, they do end up in almost good as new condition by the time you're done (in both color and texture). Dirt on this suede is not the same as on a suede jacket or purse - it will come off almost completely with enough effort (leaving just a slight yellowish dusty shadow, which alters the color slightly - I have them in light gray, so I am not sure how the much less neutral green version would end up looking).
