Garmont Men's Dakota Boot Review

I bought these boots back in March of 2000.At first I thought it was just a standard boot with a high price tag, but after a couple of years of abuse, I realized that I may be wearing these for a long time. They are very comfortable even without break-in, but they will get even more comfortable with time.10 years later I still wear the same boots and the tread is hardly worn, although I have replaced the laces 3 times. From tennis shoes to flip flops to high tops, I have owned other shoes of all types but these still remain my best shoe, regardless of type, that I have ever worn.

Good boots. Solid support. Good for use with snowshoes and crampons. Would get something else for any serious front pointing on ice and such.
5-6 trips out in snow since purchasing and never got cold or wet feet. Overall very happy with boots.

I got these boots about 4 months ago.I went hiking in TN in the Snow. The boots allowed my feet to get a little cold, but I was wearing cotton socks instead of my wool ones, so I won't knock the boots here. What did annoy me was the insanely long laces.Tied into a standard bow, the loop and the ends of the laces still touch the ground. That's just crazy.Guess it's handy in a pinch if you need to pitch a make shift tentwith a tarp between two trees, but, for me, they had to be replaced. The rubber seems strong and grippy, but the pattern does cake mud (show me one that doesnt!)The rubber does not wrap around the toe box as evident in the pictures.Time will have to tell on how well they hold up in that area. They feel very supportive and not too hard on solid ground.I'm pretty happy with them.

Hi-Tec Women's Multiterra Ultra Mid WP Hiking Shoe Review

These boots are stiff--be sure to allow plenty of breaking-in time! After the break-in, they are comfortable, sturdy shoes. I wore them hiking in the Grand Canyon, and they provided good support for the rocky terrain. My only complaint is that my feet get hot and sweaty when I wear them, but I suppose that's to be expected for a waterproof boot. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and I can't wait to put more miles on them!
