(More customer reviews)Received these last week from Amazon.I preferred the brown/tan so that they wouldn't show as much dirt.As soon as I opened the box, I knew I had found a great pair of shoes.The soles were flexible and the boots lightweight.Next, I put them on and I found heaven in a boot.These boots feel great.Just the right amount of toe room for me - not too much like other boots I had tried on in the stores.

The real test was the first hike.I don't want to have to break-in any new shoes - period.I won't buy stiff, hard shoes/boots.So with no break-in, I took off on the Ohlone Wilderness Trail out of Livermore, CA and climbed a total of 4000' ascent and 4000' back down - over 13 miles in 8 hours.This was a strenuous hike and the Lowa Zephyr GTX Boots were great.My feet felt fine.My only thought was why didn't I get these sooner.
