New Balance Men's MX1210 Training Shoe Review

(More customer reviews)I've been wearing New Balance's top-of-line cross-trainlng shoes with great satisfaction for many years, always purchasing whatever is the latest model available. So when I needed a new pair recently, the MX1210 was the no-brainer choice for me. Unfortunately, it would appear that "no brain" was used in the design of these shoes. Support, which has been a key feature of my previous NB cross-trainers, is nearly non-existent in the MX1210"s mostly all-mesh upper, and I find myself battling for stability when doing exercises like squats and weighted lunges. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that the lack of support and stability in this shoe could ultimately result in an injury when doing any kind of weight-bearing training.

In addition to the above issue, there were also quality control problems which I've not seen before in an expensive NB top-of-the-line shoe. Not only was my right shoe visibly sewn differently than the left shoe (even the 'N' logo was larger on the right than the left), but the shoes had a noticeably different fit, despite being sized the same. It was almost as if left shoes came from a different factory than right shoes. What's up New Balance??

Unfortunately, the full measure of my unhappiness with these shoes only became apparent after a few wearings, so I'm stuck with them now, but if this review prevents you from making the same mistake, then it has been well worth the time to write it.
