When i got these shoes, i had a sore tendon in my foot and was concerned how supportive these shoes will be, when i play. These shoes really held my feet tight and just gave me the confidence to move around more freely. The support for my sore heel was also great, i had not issues. Very happy with my purchase. Went blue, as it's my fav. color.

(More customer reviews)Extra room in the toe box and a closer fit in the heel fixes the problems I had with the 2140.I recommend a half-size larger if you do long distances to allow for swelling feet (maybe one size larger for some).Good socks are a must, as for any shoe.The laces are flat and stay tied unlike the round laces on the 2140.The sole is sufficiently padded for the road and the support is good for the trail--a good all-around shoe.Many shoes that are "good for both trail and road" are actually so-so for both.I plan to buy another pair to alternate with.

ASICS Men's GEL-Ds Trainer 15 Running Shoe Review

(More customer reviews)This is by far the best model I've worn. I use to run in motion control because I had issues with overpronation. Recently, I decided to change my foot strike from heel to mid-foot to reduce injuries. Now that I'm a mid-foot striker, I wanted to gradually transition out of motion control to a minimal running shoes. I went from Brooks Beast to Asics Evolution to Asics Kayano to Mizuno Wave Inspire and now Asics GEL-DS. The heels are much lower than my previous shoes and they stay out of the way when I strike the ground. They are light and II'm running faster during my speed workouts. They fit like a glove and I have no issues with blisters. I want to eventually transition to a minimal running shoes, but I like these so much that I might continue to run in them for the long run.

The only issue I have with this shoe is the soles are wearing fast. I have 50 miles in them and the outside edge of my fore-foot is wearing fast. I hope they last 300 miles.

The inside of the shoes on the pictures look more red, but in reality the inside is more of an orange color. But it isn't a big deal to me.

I was really (positive) surprised by the seller. The shipping was extremely fast and the customer service is outstanding! I have no problem recommending this seller to others!

ASICS Men's GT-2140 Trail Running Shoe Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased two pairs of running shoes from Amazon while on vacation in San Francisco. One pair were the straight running shoe and the second the trail shoe.Both shoes were US11.5 EE size. The running shoes fitted great but the trail shoe was very tight in the toe box. I guess I should have sent them back but though I could fix the problem by removing a portion of the inner sole in the toe box. Big mistake! In the end I purchased a set of shoe-stretchers .Bravo-fit Shoe Stretchers - Premium Hardwood Large Size 9-14 and that has fixed the problem. So how how are they for trail running? Well I find them great. I tried them on a short trail run in the Waitakere Ranges in Auckland that had a good variety of terrain. Mud, roots, uphills, downhills and they felt surefooted and comfy. I would recommend them but be prepared to go bigger if the toe box squeezes your forefoot despite ordering the same size as your runners

ASICS Men's GEL-Evolution 5 Running Shoe Review

(More customer reviews)I'm a "Clydesdale" (over 200 lb.) runner with chronic shin splint problems stemming from over-pronation (foot rolling inwards, or flat feet). I usually buy Asics 2130's and have gone through at least 10 pairs in the last few years. This is my first time trying this GEL-Evolution 5 shoe.

After two five-mile runs I can confirm that these GEL-Evolution 5's are great and will hold off the shin splints for many more miles than other shoes I've tried. These shoes feel very hard compared to other shoes and I worried this would be a problem but after two miles I noticed that the usual onset of lower leg pain was just not happening. The subsequent three miles of the run went great and I found I was able to increase my pace over the end of the run.

Padding under the front is firm. Padding under the heel is very solid. As you land the foot plants and there is no wiggle as your weight loads onto the planted foot. This is good for the knees and great for the lower shins.

If you are a light person you may find these shoes to be too hard.

(More customer reviews)I am a huge fan of Asics.I love the DS-13 trainer.However, the DS 14is a little more clunky and cushioned than the DS 13.If you don't mind a heavier, bulkier trainer - more shoe, more support too - then go for it.However, if you enjoyed the near-perfect combination of cushioning, support, and lightness from the DS 13, then you will be disappointed.It feels like a Gel Landreth crossed with the DS 13.Too bad, because I need a new Gel trainer and this doesn't cut it.

(More customer reviews)This shoe had fantastic reviews everywhere so I went to the local store and bought them. I have slightly wide feet(just not wide enough for a wide size), have medium arches and wear support shoes because of my particular pronation.

I bought a size 10 (Also the size of my Gel-Kayanos) after wearing these shoes and walking about a bit in my local store. The shoe fit well all around. The arch support felt a little high and a little more towards the fore-foot than usual. I thought they just needed breaking in. I couldn't have been more wrong. Within a few runs I had terrible pain in the arches of my feet.

Try them on and ensure that the arch support is just right and in the right place. The shoe will either fit your arches perfectly when you first wear them or it it never will. If you feel the arch of the insole even a little more than your old running shoes, don't buy them. Except for this little idiosyncrasy it is a good shoe.

The Gel-Kayanos are a little more expensive than these but they are fantastic and well worth the price difference and then some. You can't match the comfort and support of the Kayanos even if you insert a $50 insole into these shoes (I have tried several).

I've been trying to get back in shape and started slowly on a treadmill.After a weeks worth of treadmill running I got tired of it and moved it outside.My first run outside was a 3 miler and I had blisters and very sore feet/calf muscles after the run (running in a medium priced adidas shoe). Hence the need for new shoes. I chose the shoe because it felt better than other options in the store.I was unaware of the price tag until they told me the cost at the register.While I was taken back, I did not let the price stop me from buying the shoe.I have fairly thin/long feet, these lace up nicely and do not bunch as much as other shoes on my feet (happens frequently with my thin feet). The cushion on the inside is extremely comfortable.I tried the shoes 1st on the treadmill and was able to run 4 miles without any pain or blisters.I then ran a 3 miler outside the next day and was able to complete my run with no blisters or soreness in my feet or calves.The price tag was a bit expensive but it is worth it for me.Highly recommend the shoe to anyone.
